It offers the perfect balance between cost, quality and performance, all wrapped up in a portable little package.

Deck and Design

The deck of the WowGo Mini 2S is a great blend of aesthetics and functionality.

Measuring 75cm in length and 28.1cm in width, it offers a generous platform for riders to comfortably position their feet considering this is a shortboard.

Made from 8-ply Canadian maple and the enclosure spanning the entire underneath of the deck, it’s a very stiff deck. Which is just what you need for stability on a short eBoard.

Despite its stiffness, the shock-absorbing grip tape makes for it. Not only does it provide excellent traction, ensuring the rider’s feet remain firmly in place, but it also significantly reduces vibrations, making longer rides more comfortable.

It has a subtle curvature across the deck which cradles your feet, offering enhanced control and stability, especially during sharp turns and high-speed rides.

The inclusion of a kick tail, though on the smaller side and might pose a slight challenge for those with larger feet, it’s undeniably useful for quick manoeuvres like tic-tacking around corners and effortlessly lifting the nose over bigger obstacles.

Additionally, The added bumper on the kick tail is a testament to WowGo’s attention to detail, protecting the deck from potential damage and extending its lifespan.

Wheels

The WowGo Mini 2S offers riders a choice between two distinct wheel sets, catering to varied terrains and riding preferences.

The 90mm 78A wheels ensures a perfect balance between grip and speed, making them ideal for city streets and paved paths.

On the other hand, the 105mm Cloudwheels are for the adventurous souls and those who want unmatched comfort.

These wheels are built to handle rougher terrains, offering a cushioned ride even on uneven surfaces. Their larger diameter means they can roll over obstacles with ease, making them a favorite for those who venture out onto gravel paths and like to take shortcuts across grassy areas.

Trucks

The trucks on the WowGo Mini 2S are 45º reverse kingpin, equipped with 95A bushings.

They give you the freedom to carve gracefully on open stretches, making each turn feel fluid and natural. Yet, when it comes to higher speeds, they ensure stability, reducing the risk of wobbles that can unsettle less experienced riders.

Battery and Range

At the heart of the WowGo Mini 2S lies its robust 12S2P 260Wh 6Ah Samsung 30Q battery, a powerhouse designed to keep riders on the move.

With a marketed range of up to 18 miles / 30km, this board promises extended adventures, be it daily commutes or leisurely weekend rides.

The real-world tests by Rage Studios and AS eSKater, estimated a range of 20-25km with riders weighing 80-85kg and riding aggressively, provide a realistic expectation for those who like to push their boards to the limit.

And it has a charging time of around 3 hours, so you’re not left on empty for too long at all.

Motors, Speed, and Hill Climbing

The WowGo Mini 2S is equipped with dual 700W belt-drive motors and promises a top speed of 28mph / 45kph, which in my experience, WowGo delivers.

When it comes to acceleration, the initial thrust is strong, especially if you’re unprepared. So make sure you’re always ready for take off.

But if you’re a beginner, don’t be fearful of this, because you can make personalised adjustments to the power, which we’ll discuss in a second.

It has an impressive hill-climbing capability, tackling inclines of 35-30%. With the belt-drive motors, there won’t be many, if any, hills in your area you won’t be able to power up.

ESC and Remote

The WowGo Mini 2S has the new Hobbywing V5 ESC, which is renowned for its smooth and reliable control. It’s free from abrupt jolts, making rides feel intuitive and in sync with the rider’s intentions.

The remote has a large display that shows real-time data from battery levels and current speed to trip distance and the overall odometer.

It has my favourite feature, auto on/off, so you can just turn the remote on, kick-push off on the board and the remote and board pair seamlessly. Most eBoards have this these days, but I can’t stress to you enough how much I love not having to fumble underneath the deck to turn the board on.

Smart App Integration

The WowGo Mini 2S seamlessly integrates with the Tuya Smart App, available for both iOS and Android, taking the electric skateboarding experience to a new level of sophistication.

Through the app, riders can personalise their board’s speed limits, acceleration, and braking power, tailoring the ride dynamics to their unique preferences and skill levels.

Beyond customization, the app serves as a digital companion for every journey. Riders can track their rides, monitoring routes, distances, and performance metrics. This feature is invaluable for those keen on analyzing their rides or setting personal milestones.

A standout feature is the board’s security lock, ensuring peace of mind when leaving the board unattended. With a simple tap, riders can immobilize their board, deterring potential thefts.

Ride Experience and Overall Quality

The WowGo Mini 2S offers a ride experience that’s both exhilarating and comfortable. The deck’s shock-absorbing grip tape plays a pivotal role, dampening vibrations from uneven terrains and ensuring a buttery-smooth glide. Whether it’s a leisurely cruise or a high-speed dash, the board’s design elements converge to provide a plush ride.

The trucks, with their exceptional carving ability, add to the joy of the ride. They allow for fluid movements, making each turn a dance between rider and board. Yet, even at top speeds, the stability they offer is commendable, ensuring confidence in every stride.
