I want to tell you why I started eSkate Hub.

There are a ton of benefits for riding an electric skateboard and I really believe that eboards could be one of the most popular methods of transport.

eSkating hasn’t hit the mainstream just yet, but if you’re lucky, you might see one of the many passionate eskaters out there cruising along your local streets.

We want more awesome people on eboards. We love it so much that we want everyone to know what it feels like to have this much fun on an electric skateboard.

So, have a read below about why I started eSkate Hub and why eskating, in general, is so awesome.

The Grass IS Always Greener

I try to think back to the moment when I realised how important it was to me to be conscious of the planet. And I really struggle. I found it upsetting that there was no defining moment in my life that spurred this belief. Then I wondered, maybe it’s always been in me. Maybe I’ve always had the desire to look after the planet. And I think I like that idea a whole lot better.

I recently read Do The KIND Thing by Daniel Lubetzky (Amazon) which talks about building a business that is not only beneficial for yourself financially but will also benefit society or the environment. This stuck with me and since then I have turned down business opportunities that have been very lucrative but at the expense of being unethical. This is one of the many reasons why I landed on Electric Longboards. They are a product that brings many benefits to the environment and the society.

It’s no secret that more and more people are becoming conscious of the impact their actions are having on the environment. And that’s amazing! I see a future where people ditch their cars and everyone is cruising around in electric vehicles like electric bicycles, electric scooters and electric longboards or skateboards. Imagine, we will have better air quality, happier people because they’re in the great outdoors and maybe the best part of all is that there will be no more traffic to get stuck in on the way home from work.

1,000 ways to spend $1

One of the best things about electric longboards and skateboards is that they help keep money in your pockets. The initial purchase will range between $200-$2,000 depending on the quality and specs of the board you want. Then after that, Sanjay Dastoor, the co-founder and CEO of Boosted Boards says you can power your electric board for 1,000km at a cost of about $1. That’s insane. You can check out Sanjay’s TED Talk here!

Now, let’s do a little math… I used to catch the train to and from work every day, which would cost me US$6 a day. I used Google Maps to find that the distance from my house to work via a bike track was 14km. So to get to that 1,000km mark, that’s 35 trips to work, then home. Which would mean, if I bought the cheapest eBoard at $200, I’d make my money back in the first 1,000km from the savings I’d make from not riding the train. But let’s put it this way, if you bought a $1,000 board, you’d start reaping the financial benefits after only 116 days which is a little under 6 months.

That, along with the added bonus of being free, out in the open and not being stuffed into a train carriage with hot and sweaty suits, I’d say electric longboards and skateboards are the best forms of commuting anywhere!

The Most Fun You Can Have With Your Clothes On

Electric skateboarding is just flat out fun. There’s nothing better than getting outdoors in the sun and cruising down the boardwalk alongside the beach. Or taking your off-road board to a dirt trail and ripping dust with your mates.

Your daily commute to and from work will be far more enjoyable. No more standing in a smelly train carriage for an hour of your day… No more sitting idle in peak hour traffic… Be free and ride your board to work while you enjoy the scenery. You’ll be infinitely happier!

Finding A Needle In A Haystack

So that’s why I love electric longboards and skateboards, but here is why I started the website.

After watching a young kid cruising along the gravel path with ease on his skateboard without kicking, I was instantly amazed. I had to have one! Filled with excitement, I set out to buy my first electric skateboard. I started with a simple Google search but soon found myself buried in browser tabs of all these different boards. Each one had different types of deck materials, wheels, motors, speed, lengths, trucks, prices and so many more confusing things. I couldn’t figure out half of what each spec was.

As I was researching, I noticed was that there was no one place that I could go to get all of the information. So that was when I decided that I was going to be the one to do it. I set up this website to give you all the information you need to choose your perfect eboard.

I have reviewed a bunch of different eboards and came up with my list of the best electric skateboards to make your decision even easier.

If you already have an electric skateboard or longboard, tell me what your favourite thing about riding one is below in the comments. If you are still shopping around, feel free to ask any questions and I’ll help you out the best I can.
