- Range: 11 miles / 18km
- Hill Climb: 30% Grade
- Deck Material: 7 layers of Canadian Maple

The Meepo V3 is the most popular, cheap electric skateboard offered by Meepo and for good reason. Not only is it at a price that most people will be able to afford, it is also crammed with some amazing specs.
It edges out all others as the fastest budget electric skateboard under $500.
If you’re always running late, or just want to leave the house a little later so you can get a few extra minutes sleep, the Meepo V3 might be able to help you out.
You’ll be able to get to where you need to go fast! No more sitting in traffic or on busy public transport. Just jump on this thing and enjoy some thrilling speeds on your way to work or school.
The deck has a tiny bit of flex to it but is more on the stiff side so you’ll be less likely to get any wobbles from all that speed. You’ve also got raised edges on the deck which make it a whole lot easier to turn.
The enclosure is made of hardened plastic to help reduce the V3’s weight, however, it is still quite a heavy eboard, so make sure you take advantage of the handle on the deck. Also, the enclosure is a little LED display that shows you the battery level.
The V3 comes with the Meepo MR remote which has a big LED display that shows your speed, your total range, board and remote battery level, and the riding mode you’re in. It fits in your hand easily and uses a simple thumbwheel to control your speed.

- Max Range: 12 miles / 20km
- Hill Climb: 28% Grade
- Deck Material: Nylon fiber and glass fiber

The Maxfind Max2 Pro is a futuristic-looking electric skateboard with its unique design underneath. The battery and ESC is built into the deck and the hub motors are encased in the rear wheels, giving it a stealthy and sleek look.
It’s low maintenance and perfect for trips to the shops, or the train station as a last-mile solution. It’s small and compact so is easily storable and be carried in any skateboard backpack without fuss.
It comes in two variants, the single-motor for simple and cost-effective cruising or the dual-motor which although costs a little more, is worth it in my opinion for that added bump in performance.
Best Budget Electric Skateboard for Beginners
WowGo 2S Pro
Specs & Features
- Top Speed: 23mph / 38kmh
- Max Range: 12 miles / 19km

- Dimensions: 38″ x 9.05″
The WowGo 2S Pro is arguably one of the best electric skateboards for beginners. I might be biased because my first eboard was the original 2S and I absolutely loved it. It’s the eboard that led me to make this website. I’ve also done a full WowGo 2S review if you want to check it out.
It has a medium flex with a concave shape so you always have complete control over the board. It’s easy to turn and if you’re the type to shred hard, carving on the 2S Pro is amazing.
The remote is simple to use without any bells and whistles so you can focus on the fun part, eskating. The acceleration and braking curves are gradual without any jerkiness so you will always feel confident while riding.
It has insane top speed and plenty of range to go with it. You’ll be zipping around town with ease getting to where you need to be in no time.
If you’ve never eskated before, the WowGo 2S is a great place to start and has room for you to grow into as you become a better eskater.

A key selling points of the MAX5 is its affordability, making it an ideal choice for newcomers looking to embark on their electric skateboarding journey.
For a non-timber deck it has incredible shock-resistant flex without it being bouncy. This means you get a really comfortable ride without any of the nasty speed wobbles.
The grip tape is uniquely made of a rubber type material so it is very grippy and won’t rip up your skin when you try to pick it up to carry it.

For such a cheap electric skateboard, it really doesn’t skimp out on specs. Although it is at the high end of the price scale of this list, you get a lot of value for what you pay for.
The range is far better than any other electric longboard at this price point. I don’t know how far you live from work or school, but I dare say you’ll be able to get there and maybe even back home in one charge.
The Apsuboard X2 has a great ride feel thanks to the composite deck of maple and bamboo. It’s stiff enough to keep you stable at high speeds yet has a slight flex to allow the absorption of vibrations in the road.
Something that the X2 has that not a lot of budget eboards have are belt-drive motors. They deliver more power meaning faster acceleration and hill-climbing ability. All at a wallet-friendly price.
If the range is non-negotiable, then the Apsuboard X2 could be the best electric skateboard choice for you.

Buying Considerations for Cheap Electric Skateboards
I imagine you might think that buying a cheap electric skateboard means you’ll be receiving an inferior product. Well, I can assure you that is not always the case.
In the last few years, the eskate industry has become extremely competitive with more and more manufacturers popping up everywhere. This has sparked a fury of innovation and price cuts bringing the cost of manufacturing an electric skateboard down while increasing the quality of the components.
Nowadays, you can get an affordable electric skateboard without sacrificing quality or features.
The big brands like Boosted and Evolve can still offer a premium product at a premium price because you pay for things like brand trust, customer service, next-level component quality and detailed quality assurance testing.
Budget electric skateboards don’t have the level of quality that the premium boards have, but they don’t really need to. The cheaper eboards are still of great quality.
Features like LED lights, mobile apps, replaceable wheels, swappable batteries used to be reserved for the more expensive eboards, but with innovation, we are starting to see a lot of those features being offered by the budget electric skateboard companies.
The performance specs between a premium brand and a budget electric skateboard brand are nearly non-existent. You can pay a lot less for the same, if not more, the performance of a premium board by choosing a good quality cheap eboard.
A big one to note is that in some cases, the budget eboard brands don’t have the level of customer support that you might expect. This is because most of the affordable electric skateboard companies are from China and they don’t quite meet the expectations of westerners when it comes to customer service. A lot of it is due to translation errors and timezone restrictions which makes communication just that little bit harder.
I must say though, that the companies in China are getting a lot better at servicing their customers.
All-in-all, buying a cheap electric skateboard won’t leave you disappointed. You still get great quality, top performance, interesting features and an improving level of customer service for a fraction of the price.
When just starting out in the eskate game, or when buying for your kids, buying an affordable electric skateboard is the perfect place to start.
There really is no need to jump up into the premium range right away. Test the waters here and upgrade after you realise how much you love it!
Ride safe out there eSkaters!
